“Tokenism is hypocrisy.”
-Malcolm X

Andrea is a recent graduate from the University of Manitoba with a degree in social work. Her education, combined with her experiences as a racialized woman in Canadian society, has driven her focus on addressing systemic and social barriers and oppression.

Living in Winnipeg, Andrea has personally experienced and encountered many individuals from diverse backgrounds who have been marginalized, silenced, and oppressed due to economic and linguistic barriers to justice. This inspired her to create an organization aimed at bridging the gap between various social, legal, and health services and their users. She believes that by helping people navigate and connect with social services, true barriers can be overcome, tokenism can be challenged, and social justice can be achieved.

Andrea is passionate about manga, anime, and literature from around the world, J-rock music, and K-pop. Her favorite flower is the moonflower, and her favorite animal is the honey badger. Her symbols include the cross X, mullet fish, and net. She enjoys making bento boxes for loved ones and cherishes tea time with friends.
